Who is Jade?
Great question and something I find I need to check in on often. Grateful that My Yoga and Meditation practices allow me the opportunity to do just that! Over the past few years, I have evolved. Shed lots of layers and done lots of unlearning. Life is full of so many lessons and I am grateful for them all.
I am 37yo, I live in Mt Eliza. Married to Ben. We have a daughter Lottie who is 11yo and a son Sol who is 8yo. A 4yo Golden Retriever Nellie and a house rabbit called Nutmeg who is the cutest. I grew up in Mornington and I lived in London for a few years. For 17 years I worked as an International Flight Attendant mainly in First Class. It was a global lifestyle that had my head literally in the clouds and my feet well and truly off the ground. My family had the opportunity to travel the world I am so grateful. They say what goes up must come down…and that was certainly the case for me but in the best roundabout way!
When International borders closed at the beginning of 2020, I was internally transferred to my local supermarket for shifts. It was a thud back to earth to go from swanning around first class on the way to LA to cleaning the baskets at my local woollies in a pandemic, but I felt grateful I had the opportunity to show up and do something. Certainly, had to leave my ego at the door for good! Good riddance to it!
Now I work (not that I really call it work) as a Yoga Teacher. It’s so grounding and a much calmer way of life. My passion is kids and youth. I wish I had learned Yoga earlier. It has helped me so much and that is why I love sharing that knowledge with Youth. They soak it up and I truly believe it will help them access inner strength and live peaceful lives.
What is more important than that?
What are your passions in life?
Family, yoga, travel, friends, cooking, my pets, the beach, nature
What is the lesson in life you live by?
Show up with grace and kindness and an open heart.
How do you practice self-care / self-love?
I try to always live the Yogic values on and off the mat.
Why do you think self-care is so important?
Our health is everything. When we are healthy and give to ourselves, we can then give to others.
How do you ensure that you prioritise the time to focus on your wellness journey?
It’s a non-negatable for me to put my health and wellbeing first. I have learnt the hard way what happens when you do not. I have had some big health challenges.
Who inspires you the most and why?
I think nature inspires me more than any individual does. I am so grateful for the beautiful nature here on our peninsula. Bush and Bay.
What is your favourite frii[s]mith product and why?
I love the I am [enough] overnight mask with Manuka honey! It is so nourishing and feels beautiful on my skin. I recently bought it for my mum as a birthday gift too. I was often blinded by the bright lights of duty free shopping for skin care, but being grounded caused me to look closer to home. I had been searching all over the world when the best skin care I have ever tried was right under my nose all along.
What does radiance mean to you?
Shining my inner light and living my dharma. Staying in my own lane. When the kids float out of my yoga class and into the community that is pure true radiance to me. I am so
grateful for the opportunity to share yoga with our young people.
