Who is Jan?

I love everything about life, the sunrise and sunset, my family, friends and community, walks on the beach, holidays in the sun. My background is in nursing and holistic health, reiki, wellness coach, and I am also a yoga and meditation teacher.

What are your passions?

I love living each day with mindful awareness, having fun with my friends, laughing, dancing, eating organic food, walking on the beach and swimming in the bay all year long. I also love practicing reiki and yoga.

What is the lesson you live by?

If you can dream it you can achieve it. I also always ask myself these 3 questions before I speak; is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

How do you practice self care/self love?

I meditate every day, I say no and have healthy boundaries, I have a facial or massage.

Why do you think self care is important?

I believe when we look after our own needs on a mind, body and soul level we have more energy to give to others.

How do you ensure you prioritise the time to focus on your wellness journey?

I believe a daily routine and positive habits is the key to achieving my wellness journey. I put myself in my diary, a rest day, time to see friends, schedule time to write, and to just be.

Who inspires you the most and why?

My husband inspires me, he is loving and kind, he listens to my ideas and is always encouraging, he is an amazing cook, an amazing dad and a real community person. He supports me in all that I do, I am so grateful that we have been happily married for 36 years.

What is your favourite frii[s]mith product and why?

I love the i am [radiant] active moisturiser; it is light and lush and makes my skin glow all day. I love the calcite crystal.

What does radiance mean to you?

Radiance is a feeling of lightness and love within that shines out when you are living a life with purpose and passion, being the best version of myself.

  1. Focus on your breath during the day, breathe deeply and let go of stress and tiredness.
  2. Focus on one thing at a time, be mindfully present in the moment.
  3. Pay attention to your body, where am I holding on, try a 5 min body scan to reduce anxiety.
  4. When walking, listen to the sounds around you, connect into your environment as a way to meditate.
  5. Practicing gratitude everyday brings our mind into the present moment and lifts our mindset into a more positive state.
